I’ve been listening to Mt Wolf‘s new EP Life Size Ghosts. You can read an interview with Mt Wolf from earlier this year here.

I bloody love Andy Hull, most famed as lead singer of Manchester Orchestra. This is the opening track from his solo project Right Away, Great Captain! A perfect album to have on as the weather takes a more autumnal vibe.

I’ve been listening to the hypnotic sounds of Drop Electric from their latest EP, Drop Electric Sampler Platter. Released in July, I’m a bit late coming to this one, but I’m absolutely loving it. Stay tuned for a review to be posted soon.

A classic scenario of having my iPod on shuffle, hearing a song, and then popping that artist’s album on. So I’ve been listening back to Tiken Jah Fakoly’s African Revolution after ‘Marley Foly’ came up on shuffle. As with most of the tracks on this album, I love hearing the reggae beat against an amazing kora solo.

The Golden Morning Breaks. I still love listening to this album by French musician Colleen (aka Cécile Schott). Every track is absolutely stunning. It was released in 2005 via The Leaf Label.

The latest album from the New York-based Afro-beat group, Antibalas – Antibalas. The album features some of the tightest Afro-beat around and the track ‘Dirty Money’ is particularly funky. And an official video starring puppets always helps.

‘Crystalised’ by The xx keeps being played on BBC 6Music lately, making me want to go back and keep listening to it. It was the band’s first single to be released from their self-titled debut album in 2009.

I cannot stop listening to the debut album by Kishi Bashi, 151a. It’s such a wonderfully, thick sound that you find something new to love each time. Be sure to check out our brand-spanking new podcast to hear another track form the album.

I took a listen to Grasscut‘s new album Unearth when it came in for review. Each track on album is inspired by a location in Britain. It will be released on Ninja Tune on July 16th. One of favourite tracks on the album is ‘From Towns and Fields’.

Samuel YirgaGuzo. The fabulous debut from the young Ethiopian pianist features funky bass lines, traditional Ethiopian classics, reworked psychedelic soul, upbeat Latin and painfully beautiful piano solos.
