With today’s Song of the Day we are turning our gaze to the much-hyped and badly named ‘Queer-Rap’ scene (read a good article here) and, in my humble opinion, one of it’s most interesting and promising artists’ Mykki Blanco.

Sometimes performing as a woman or a man, Blanco has been causing quite a stir with his striking image and some amazing videos (see Nas Gave Me A Perm). But it is his distinctive flow, intriguing lyrics and some ear-turning production that really sets him above the rest. His new song ‘Haze.Boogie.Life’ was leaked earlier this week by Blanco himself and the video will follow on Friday.
