After a recent signing to Ooh La La Recordings, Brooklyn’s Ace Reporter is gearing up for the February 26, 2013 release of his debut LP, Yearling.

The first single, ‘Untouched and Arrived’ was premiered via Some Kind of Awesome, who called it “crisp like an early autumn morning…the vibrato in his vocals during the chorus are sure to send a slight bit of goosebumps down the side of your body.” Take a listen here:

The new solo project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Snyder sprung from an ambitious venture called the threesixfive project wherein Snyder challenged himself to write and record a song a day for an entire year after the breakup of his longtime band The States. The result is Yearling, a collection of the best ten tracks from this project. Ten moments in time from a single year.

Yearling was recorded in a converted barn in upstate New York in the spring of 2011. The album, which Snyder self-produced, features performances by drummer Aaron Steele and guitarist Chris Kuklis and was engineered and mixed by Chris Grainger (Wilco, Switchfoot). The tracks range in style and tone, from the infectious pop-rock melody of ‘Untouched and Arrived’ to the groove-driven keys of ‘Collected Works’ to the lush violins of ‘If I See You Again.’ The album has the effect of a kaleidoscope, where Snyder’s poetic lyricism and evocative imagery draw the songs together to create a collection that tells the story of a year, each song refracting a different memory of a time and place.
