Nobody seems to know what happened to Marumari… One day he was making beautiful music and the next he was gone. Maybe it’s because he was so criminally under-listened to that he’s given up the ghost. Or maybe, like the video to ‘Baby M’, he got in a spaceship and flew to live in a world of people on his level.

Released in June, I only discovered this gem when the album was recently featured as Soundway Record’s ‘Guest Album of the Month’. Sampling lost African VHS, restricted archive material, and field recordings with a healthy dashing of synths and drum machines, its pretty hard not to get that ol’ booty shaking.
