Soundcrash have created yet another exciting line-up for the summer, with legendary hip-hop acts DJ Vadim, DJ Format & The Simonsound and Mr Thing hitting London’s KOKO on August 18 2012.

DJ Format, one of the most highly regarded DJs to ever come out of the UK, will present the Simonsound audio-visual set; a collaborative project between DJ Format (Matt Ford) and Simon James. With a broad musical taste, their experimental offerings are inspired 60s psych, pioneering electronics and mood music for TV and film.

Also performing is DJ Vadim, a Soundcrash favourite who’s been on the scene for some time now, touching styles as varied as hip-hop, soul, funk, grime, reggae, trip-hop, ethnic sounds and heavy bass lines. Constantly creating a fresh sound, his project is now approaching its 20th year and has seen him tour across more than 60 countries and perform over two and a half thousand times. Also working with MCs, singers and poets, this is one hell of a busy man, and it sure pays off.

Joining Format and Vadim is former DMC Scratch Championship winner Mr Thing. The British hip-hop producer is a former member of Scratch Perverts and has also worked with artists such as Yungun and Doc Brown. You’ll witness his legendary mixing and scratching skills, combined with his winning hip-hop and funk breaks.

Lazy Habits will round off the evening with beats, rhymes and brass, inspired by New Orleans jazz, soul, hip-hop and big bands of the 1950s.
