Shmu (aka Sam Chown, drummer and multi-talented member of the duo Zorch,) celebrates the release of his new solo album Discipline/Communication. A keen amalgamation of glitch, hip hop, shoegaze and acoustic eminates from the stand-out track and second single from the album, ‘&hearts’. It’s danceable, lively and vaguely resembles an early Gold Panda.

The track is distinguished by broken drums and claps, heavy metallic guitar and jumpy synths which flows into a more sustainable hip hop beat and a quiet acoustic guitar on top of choppy vocals. Despite sounding like a snippet of sheer madness, ‘&hearts’ is a pleasurable addition to the album and incorporates all of the styles of music and experimental wonder that describes Shmu so well.
